This is the main body of the APMRU pollen collection. Their collection consists of glass slides, light and scanning electron micrographs, and vouchered pollen material collected by Stanley D. and Gretchen D. Jones or material donated to them by various plant collectors and herbaria through out the world. There are about 2500 taxa represented in this collection. Although there are taxa from the United States, Belize, Canada, and Mexico, the main emphasis of this collection is pollen from the State of Texas. The majority of collection's taxa are entomophilous (insect pollinated). This collection is important for identifying pollen found in honey (melissopalynology) and on or in other insects (entomopalynology). Scanning electron micrographs from their and from Meredith Hoag Lieux's collections make up the micrographs in Pollen of the Southeastern United States (Jones et al. 1995).
